Diet for hypothyrodism

 Hypothyrodism is deficiency of thyroid hormones & it disturb the metabolism, heart rate & body temperature. Thyroid hormones (T 3 & T 4 )regulate metabolism. Is most commonly affects women from middle age & can occur at any age.  hypothyrodism is characterized by symptoms like fatigue, hai fall,slow growth, constipation, weight gain & most common symptom nails become brittle & irregular uterine bleeding.

                 There is no such a treatment for hypothyrodism  but some measures help to control ,by supplementing the thyroid hormone. Iodine is essential mineral for thyroid gland function & deficiency leads to abnormal enlargement of thyroid gland.

             A well balanced diet which is not high in fats & sodium is preferred. Drink plenty of water it helps to Speed up the metabolism & improves digestion , helps to keep acidic state of diagestive tract. Start your day with glass of lemon 🍋 water. Avoid tea, coffee as they reduce the absorption of thyroid medicines. Green tea is allowed.

            Avoid foods like Soya, cabbage, broccoli 🥦, spinach, cauliflower, sweet potato and peanuts 🥜, also avoid iron supplements they affect the thyoxin absorption.

          Include foods like milk, cheese, whole eggs & iodised table salt ,& fruits like apple 🍎, they help to detoxify body & helps thyroid working smoothly.


           Daily meditation & exercise is beneficial & helps to reduce depression muscle weakness  and weight gain. TSH is most common blood test for detecting thyroid hormone diet vary depending on one's personal needs, regulate meal timing. Routine health screening keep one healthy and active.
